What would you normalize for others by showing up as yourself?

When I was growing up going to a sento, I thought that c-section scars, masectomies - any any other body conditions that go unnoticed in society - were normal. And, well, they are. The women who normalized these for me did so just by showing up at the sento and being open to bare themselves.

When I had a c-section myself and was grappling with how much body had changed, I didn't hesitate to go to the sento because I knew it would be okay to go there thanks to the women who have shown me it's safe.

If you're hesitating to show up as your true self right now, one question you can ask yourself is: what would you like to normalize for other people?
